Atmosphere

The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) provides continuous data and information on atmospheric composition. The service describes the current situation, forecasts the situation a few days ahead, and analyses consistently retrospective data records for recent years. The Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service supports many applications in a variety of domains including health, environmental monitoring, renewable energies, meteorology and climatology.

The service focuses on five main areas: Air quality and atmospheric composition, ozone layer and ultra-violet radiation, emissions and surface fluxes, solar radiation, climate forcing. Further information is available on Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service.

Land

The Copernicus Land Monitoring Service (CLMS) provides geographical information on land cover and its changes, land use, vegetation state, water cycle and earth surface energy variables to a broad range of users in Europe and across the world in the field of environmental terrestrial applications. It supports applications in a variety of domains such as: Planning (e.g. urban areas), forestry, water management, agriculture and food security, nature conservation and restoration, ecosystem accounting and mitigation and adaptation to climate change. More information on the Copernicus Land Service.

Marine

The Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) provides regular and systematic reference information on the physical and biogeochemical state, variability and dynamics of the ocean and marine ecosystems for the global ocean and the European regional seas. The CMEMS includes all important marine applications: Marine safety, marine resources, coastal and marine environment, weather, seasonal forecasting and climate. More information on Copernicus Marine Service.

Security

The Copernicus service for Security applications aims to support European Union policies by providing information in response to Europe’s security challenges. It improves crisis prevention, preparedness and response in three key areas: Border surveillance, maritime surveillance and support to EU External Action. More information about the Copernicus Security Service, more information about Copernicus Border Surveillance, the Copernicus Maritime Surveillance Service and further information of the Copernicus Service in Support to EU External Action is available on the linked webpages.

Climate Change

The Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) supports society by providing authoritative information about the past, present and future climate in Europe and the rest of the World. Data of the C3S is open access and the C3S is supporting the user needs to meet their goals in dealing with the effects of climate change. Further information and data is available by Copernicus Climate Change Service.

Emergency

The Copernicus Emergency Management Service (Copernicus EMS) provides all actors involved in the management of natural disasters, man-made emergency situations, and humanitarian crises with timely and accurate geo-spatial information derived from satellite remote sensing and completed by available in situ or open data sources. The Copernicus EMS consists of two components: A mapping component and an early warning component. More information about the Copernicus Emergency Service.
