The European Commission has launched two Networks, the Copernicus Relays and the Copernicus Academy, to contribute to spreading awareness and knowledge about Copernicus across and outside the EU. The Copernicus Relays play a key role by promoting Copernicus as a sustainable source of full, free, open and reliable information to meet the needs of National/regional/local public services, as well as a booster for the development of services with high commercial potential by local entrepreneurs. Satellite Earth Observation having been a core research, development and innovation area of the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) for many years, the institute’s Environmental Research and Innovation Department (ERIN) successfully applied to become a national representative of the two networks. The objective of the Copernicus Relays and the Copernicus Academy are in line with LIST’s overall positioning to bridge satellite EO-related scientific research and businesses.
By launching this website, we intend to promote the use of EO data and derived applications in Luxembourg and the Greater Region and to bring together and foster collaboration between private companies and public research organisations active in the development and application of space-related technologies. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in announcing and showcasing relevant events and applications through our website.
Setup and maintenance activities for this website are funded by the Luxembourg National Space Programme (LuxIMPULSE) implemented by the European Space Agency (ESTEC/Contract No. /17/NL/MH/mg). Support from the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) for this activity is acknowledged.
